Prior to Rito, Miyako Shimakawa was a textile designer – her first collection for the Japanese brand was shown in the autumn-winter 2016 season. Miyako continues to pay special attention to materials and experiment with cuts. Laconic silhouettes are complemented by draperies and asymmetries, while natural Japanese minimalism blends seamlessly with current trends.
